Transfer case Spaces

Is it possible to put a 2inch spacer on top of the rubber transfer case mounts to lift it higher would it put more strain on the drive shafts with them being on an angle all the time (eg putting more pressure on unis)

Has anyone done it before?

i run 1 " in mine seems to work well.

i think christover runs with engine mounts instead of the standard mounts. it lifts the case higher and also shifts it back 10mm i think... i'm sure he'll confirm/deny.

i think it's a worthwhile mod. also maybe get rid of the xmember there and make a flatter one. then put a smooth bash plate under the whole lot.

At 2 inches they start to vibrate, anything less is okay.

with the 1.0 litre crossmember only about 25mm is possible without modifying the crossmember. 1.3 type is only limited by the risk of vibrations mentioned. it is worth doing, especially if you have a body lift, makes use of space. yes I use sierra engine mounts to lift mine 20mm and back about 10mm, which all seems to work fine(my jack shaft was too tight, from 1.3 into 1.0 litre conversion so moving case back was a good thing)

So if Im going to put a 1lt transfer case into my 1.3 am I better off just leaving it at standard height or just raise it 25mm to get it out of the mud abit

you have room, if you have a body lift, to go more, but a 1" 25mm lift of the t-case is easy, and practical, and works a treat, with no vibe ot drop out probs, christover
