where to get best price on cal offroad cvs
as above need for a gq
thanks
thanks
where do you buy your longfeilds from ? half the $$ of cal cv's is bl00dy cheap .nottie wrote:Or you could graft the tubes and complete hub assemblies from an 80 series on to the gq centre and run some decent Cvs and Axels from longfield.
And Half the price
i would think its cheaper to buy $1800 cal cv's than $1300 longfeilds and a 80 series front diff than cut it up and put it all together not to mention labour costs .
and i thought the cal cv's had the same treatment done to them as longs but are bigger making them stronger .
as for longs breaking all the time (mousie)? are you talking old style 27's or the 30's . ive heard only positive reviews on thbe 30's .
back to subject , just contact cal and he will nodoubt be the one to give you the best price . (cal offroad)
cheers Jai

Breaking Longs is possible and has been done by a few on this board - RUFF and Dave Camp instantly come to mind. That's 2 that I can think of. CalCVs are seemingly breaking at will. Go to the Nissan section and see the thread on them.
Bobby is awesome to deal with and stands behind his product 100%

just remember that longfields are made in 30 spline for hi lux AND 80 series....2 different size cv's but same input and output spline... 80's are bigger everywhere else thoughblade 929 wrote:Micka wrote:I think you will find that the Longfields are bigger and stronger.blade 929 wrote:where do you buy your longfeilds from ? half the $$ of cal cv's is bl00dy cheap .nottie wrote:Or you could graft the tubes and complete hub assemblies from an 80 series on to the gq centre and run some decent Cvs and Axels from longfield.

thats some funny $hit!Mousie wrote:lol longfeilds brake all the time there poo
i havnt broken a set of cals yet and i give them hell...
i suppose you are going to tell us that you are still running standard locking hubs and have never had one fail.
I could count the broken 30spline longs in OZ on one hand, and most of those have been in comp buggies running water filled tires!
As for nissan chromos - lets just say they are a good 'weekend warrior' option but are definately not unbrakeable.......
Toyota cv's are over 10% bigger in the stub diameter which where the nissan chromos are breaking - FYI.

Gee Yuri has pumped his prices a fair bit hasnt he!
For $780.00 for 2 CVs you would be crazy to not go to a longfield if for a yota
As far as the cal CVs being bigger then longs i would think you mean the look of a GU CV would apear bigger in the bell to a 60/hilux cv.
Mousie how have you got longs running thru nissan hubs
