rear up front without high steer.

Post by 83-mud-lux »

looking at going a rear up front setup in my 1983 hilux.
problem is i dont have enough money to pay for high steer, but i have the rear springs ready to go in.
i will eventually go high steer when i get enough money together but that will be a while.

the rear end is alot softer than the front so it would make the lux a little more comfortable on the road thats why i want to put the springs in now.
thx..smiley...

well..u could...ud need a shorter draglink to suit the moved forward diff postion, need to get shockhoops, or ur shocks will be on a big lean.
Id wait till you have the money for hi or cross over steering myself to take advantage of the new flex and not have to buy things twice

I have standard shock mounts but the front spring hangers are 1" forward and 2" down.
You can also redrill your spring mount an inch.
You may have to have an adjustable draglink and torque bar?
May as well go straight for crossover steering.

ive got an adjustable torque bar.
yer but i would like to move my diff forward aswell to stop the tires rubbing on the guard.
its a toss up between redrill spring perch's or put shock hoops on.
think i might wait till i get high steer and do it all at once.dont know how long that will be..

Redrill the perches and see if that gives you enough clearance, as this is cheap. Then when you get more money do RUF and crossover.
RUF flex great.
