Post by dansharp »

My uncle has an 86 hilux just wondering if he could fit a diff LSD diff centre from an IFS Surf into it? Will it fit?

nah they are different sizes, the solid axel hilux's and surf rears are 8" diffs i believe where IFS diffs are smaller diameter 6-7" something like that. even if you wanted the smaller diff i dont think that it is possible.

As far as i know IFS dont come with LSD in the front anyway. but they do have them in the back, could be wrong tho

Toyota never fitted an LSD to the front of the IFS surfs. Actually no IFS Toyota has an LSD in the front.

Your original question is a little confusing :?

Are you trying to fit an LSD from the rear of the Surf into the front of a solid axle hilux? If so then yes it will bolt straight in. You will need to make sure the ratios match.
