Where can i get wider offset 100 series rims???

Post by mike_nofx »

Hey all, I want to get a set of wheels for a 105 cruiser, but i want a set with more offset. Currently they are 0 offset 16x8" GXL wheels, but i want around -20 to -30.

Can anyone tell me who might sell them?

Alternatively, can the GXL wheels be modified?

I live in the Wollongong area, but anywhere around sydney would be fine.

Thanks
Mike

A 16 x 10 -33 will sit differently under the truck than a 16 x 8 -33.

So if no-one makes off the shelf 5 studs with differing offsets you will have to get a custon wheel or get the offset of yours changed if ther eis enough mating surface to move it around. Surely someone could order a one off sunny or similar. The centre is the same the outer is the same all you want to do is move the relationship.

wouldn't be cheap but if there is no-one in Sydney then try Eastern Wheel Works who I think are in Melbourne. If they are still operetaing I know they make custom steels and do offset changes.

Which affects the forces exerted on centre, which may affect the strength (and durability/reliability) of the wheel.

If they haven't tested that combination of centre, outer & offset they're unlikely to produce and sell it.

spoke to them the other day, seemed to fine to deal with. I think they want $240 per rim, offset to your measurements

Yes of course but then again an 8" rim with a -25 offset already exists for leaf sprung vehicles. It's not that much of an unknown quantity. Although I mentioned sunnys as a generic steel description I was thinking more so that one of the american rims should be able to do something they seem to have a few severe offsets. Whether they do the stud pattenr is another matter too though.

got an over the phone quote of $80 per rim to modify the offset (cut and re-weld) But i need to bring rims in to confirm if they can actually modify these wheels, as some wheels cannot be modified!

So that might be the go.
