Well, here's a link to an article we featured a few years ago on Chris Robinson's V8 conversion. It was a GenI though.
http://www.4x4wire.com/mitsubishi/featu ... crobinson/

4.3 has been done and tested successfully in three GenI trucks in the US (in terms of those we are aware of). All 4.3s. Al done differently. All turned out very nice. I drove BigBlue's 4.3 Vortech, and I must say, its nice to have that much power in a shortie. Makes the truck feel very different...

Mitsubishi V8

Post by Lancer300 »

Hey guys im new to the forum! I noticed nobodys been on this topic for a few years but thot id just add my pennys worth anyway i do know mitsubishi do their own v8 its engine code is 8A80 just thot id would be worth a look pushing 206 kW at 5000 rpm and 412 N·m 304 ft·lbf at 4000 rpm. 4.5 L with double overhead camshafts and gasoline direct injection.
They came in a models called Proudia and Dignity. These are discontinued but Hyundai have the same engine in a car called the Equus. The engine was produced from 1999 onwards and got replaced this year 2008 by another V8 :D

sounds intresting. but with the dude that was sayin add turbo...did anyone think of the possibilty of usin the 6G72 twin turbo motor that comes from the mitso 3000gto?? same motor jus manifolds sit differently cause the motor sits east west rather than north south. would be a gus swap would it not be? its a factory setup that jus needs sum minor mods to fit.
since ive got a mitso nj thatl need n motor upgrade soon i will look into this swap or at least swappin parts from one to myn.
jus my few cents worth.
