Better add some tech. How big of a job is this for someone to attempt themselves if I follow the Gregory's manual ?

All is good. I ordered the parts through a mate who got me a good enough price for me not to have to risk ebay.
I'm going to attempt this job in the next few days. Hopefully I won't need to come and post in this thread asking for help if it all goes wrong

It's not too bad of a job, there's just a fair bit that needs to be removed to gain access to it all. You will need to remove the compressor then its bracket also. Just set it up at TDC and mark your cams and crank. I tell you what, i'll come and do your timing belt and you can come and do an engine swap in mine since i drowned it on the weekend.
ouch .. how did you manage that ?hudson44 wrote:It's not too bad of a job, there's just a fair bit that needs to be removed to gain access to it all. Without hijacking the thread too much, i drove into a "puddle" that looked just like the dozens we'd driven through all day and spend about 5 mins in silty muddy water up over the grey 2 tone. Tide line is 1/3 the way up the door trims and it somehow sucked water directly into the sump and killed the bigends and or gudgen.
Just remember when tensioning the belt Hekta, that you should have the belt taught between the cams and rh side of the crank with all the slack on the tensioner side when you tension it up. Wind it by hand over 2 full revolutions of the crank and re-check the tension.
