just wondering how well would an air-air top mount i/c work on td42? was thinking of running twin thermos and twin scoops

any advice appreciated

Which Actual air - air intercooler? you mean the one on ebay with twin scoops?

yeh was lookin at that one but was just curious on how well they would go with the heat coming off the turbo etc, or would a front mount work better?

Mate top mount with thermo fans works awesome on my ute. I'm upgrading to a nissan navara bonnet scoop as they are quite wider than the patrol as will flow better.

the trick with top mounts is you need to build a shrowd under it and fit your fan to it , and the top has to be sealed against the bonnet so as not to suck in hot air from the engine bay it is tight but doable , and easier with a bodylift

Nizzbits on patrol4x4 says around $450 which is alot more than the $110 for the patrol but money isn't really an issue when it comes to the truck.
