Flare compatibility

Post by Bazooka »

Does anyone know if the rear flares from a TJ are the same as a YJ?
Looking at these bushwacker flares and the rear flares look similar if not the same on both vehicles.

There are not the same !!

You can fit TJ flares but they are different than YJ flares

CJ flares look like bushrange add on flare and have a round opening at the rear
YJ Flare fronts are similar to CJ but has more of an opening at the rear of the front flare and slightly different curve to the fender, Rear flares are more like this but up the other way \_/ (damn ascii character wont let me draw it up the right way)

TJ flares are more square giving the biggest opening of the 3

If you are prepared to cut you can fit TJ flares on a YJ or CJ and YJ on CJ

CJ flares would look pretty wierd on a YJ or TJ but

Here is a pic of stock YJ flares

Image

Bushwacker YJ flares are a bigger opening than a stock YJ flare

As far as I am aware they r very similar but not quite the same, the YJ flare is alittle narrower.
