It doesn't bother me at all. My car is only raised 50mm and i still run 35s and i wouldn't want tyres any bigger on road.

I see young guys rolling around in huge rigs and i remember just how bad they are to drive. Glad i saw the light.

i think the new laws indicate height in general, thats tyres + suspension

It does say lifted vehicles will be granted conditional rego for competition though.

Wheres the fine print and what happened to NCOP?

if ncop comes into place 35s will basically be illegal, the max you can get engineered is 50mm bigger than standard.

you can raise your vehicle 50mm overall this includes tyres and suspension without it being engineered. if you want to get your vehicle engineered you can then run a 75mm lift a 50mm body lift and a 50mm bigger tyre than standard.

Under this new NSW rule, the sum total of:
(1) increase in tyre radius (how much it raises the axle), plus
(2) suspension lift, plus
(3) body lift
is limited to 50mm, and that will require engineering - even if it is just a 50mm spring lift that didn't need engineering before.

I finally realised what the lowering by 150mm that is to be banned is about. They just effectively banned hotrods as well.

well, all you nsw type people should contact you're local mp's and or do a petition. the greenies have nothing better to do but bludge off the government which leaves plenty time to for them to get noticed. most of us work to get what we want. let the authorities know. if they knew how many wheelers were out there i'm sure they would think twice before election time!

Athol can a hotrod be engineered as an ICV to get around this? Likewise a highly modded 4WD?

Hot rods in qld have totally seperate regs than other vehicles ,almost self regulated by engineers which btw are specified rod engineers.
Not sure in nsw but believe it is very similar.

I tried to pay for my rego on line tonight and this is the response I received after putting in my billing number.

"This vehicle is not eligible for online renewal. Please attend a motor registry with your relevant documents"

I have engineers reports, I have had it in for the blue slip and also on the registration papers it has Cond. GO96, it also mentions MODIFIED AS PER REPORT NUMBER BRUCE HARTWIG ###### BJH#######.

4WD association should put in class action for defamation of character we are not all hoons just because we lift or lower our cars. most of our cars would be checked over for faults by us more often than most normal cars. how long are we going to be told we can not do or chosen sport because it dose not fit in with there normal rules. were is the proof that our cars cause more accidents. you can not call someone a drunk just because he or she is homeless

The tosser should get out his measuring tape next time he puts his groceries in the back of his shitbox coz I'll be betting that it lowers his suspension to what he would class as dangerous!!
How can you seriously make claims that raising or lowering a vehicle 2" will impair your visibilty or the visibility of pedestrians or others when the human population's height varies by over 24"!!!
Not to mention the drivers position would be a fair bit different in say, a bog stock 100 series cruiser and a standard corolla??
He makes mention that modifications can affect ESP.. Dunno about you guys but my trusty ol' 4Runner has got no F-ing idea what ESP or even ABS is!!!
These people are absolute idiots who have nothing better to do than ruin peoples fun..
Some people actually like to get out there and enjoy the world!

How about the average truck driver or bus driver or commercial van, most of them sit as high if not higher than your average 4x4 so why aren't they being blamed for the thousands of pedestrians and cyclists mown down every year. Furthermore what are the cyclist and pedestrians doing on the road in the first place. As for startling other motorists, i had a truck scare the shit out of me the other night, should they be banned?
I may be dumb, but im ugly too

Push bikes don't have to pay rego? They shouldn't even be allowed on the road.
I live in the country and on country roads when theres a push bike rider taking up 1/2 of my lane on a blind corner, or on a crest or something where you can not see whats on coming, And you have to slow down to 20k's because they don't stick as far left as they can. They wonder why people hoot there horns, get up them and speed off around when safe to do so?

Not all 4wd's are 'h00nz'. It's more the P'plate commo's.

Firstly its not your lane, even though the riders dont pay rego its is equally as much their lane also. What is fair and what you think is fair is irrelevant. Secondly they seem to prefer to do that than ride to the left and get sideswiped - from everything I've heard from riders, they do this deliberately because its safer for them, and they have no real protection. Thats also why they ride abreast and not inline when in a lane - the very thing you have described is why they do it.
