Well for me personally, i lost interest in this event sometime ago!

When it was been organised for Sept 03 i was getting pissed off because i could not see how i would get in to compete.

NOW i couldn't give a rats toss and quite frankly i wouldn't even go down to watch!

It is a shame though!

I call BS - if it was on I would want to enter and I would love to win it.

I think it would still be the biggest event to win in Aust ATM.

Tony, my lips are sealed. My informant is at enough risk!

So, sadly, it is not happening again. Although, I was looking forward to it again! :bad-words:

I would still go and compete, without a doubt!

so what has been the stumbling block. Is it insurance or local authorities not approving it or something more sinister :?

its a logistics thing

they couldnt get enough self raising flour to the event site for the big bake off.

council were also concerned about hygiene not to mention the terrorists cells operating in the area.

tuff truck

Post by DIRTY ROCK STAR »

I love the idea of "tough truck".

get this puppy started!!!!

someone start calling insurance places. maybe someone knows where the old tuff truck got theirs?

then start finding a venue, if not the same one! the council up there would love that event as would loval businesses. the milbrodale shop etc.

then sit back and enjoy being the organiser of a kickass event!

and, watch the $$$$$ roll on in!

I have been thinking about trying to get some new events going in the NSW area,But at the moment i'm flat starting a new buisness.
If there is anyone else that would be willing to lend a hand in trying get the sport to grow in NSW then now is your chancs to speak up.I'm not concerned with how much money we can make out of it,i just want some new events and for the sport to grow.
So who's up for it??????

that's nice so are most of us but its not on.

As to the suggestion well lets do one ourselves if you think you can when the organisers of tuff truck can't well go ahead, but you may find that it is a huge job, that requires huge amounts of time and effort to get all the relevant paper work done and then the logistics of getting in all the required facilities and people and then to get spectators in and then to actually make money or at least break even. But good luck to you and let us know when its on.

tuff truck

Post by MADSHORT »

The prob with this event is PROFIT they just want to make MONEY cause if they were there for the sport of it we would not have a problem
Nissan Trials
Willowglen
Woodpecker
thay are all still running cause they are only inviting 4wd clubs who all have there insurances to cover.
Invite public and of course it is going to cost a shite load to cover it ,
But they also would have made the money from the previous events to pay the premiums
I personaly think they are just to hungry

This is only MY opinion

sorry to say gordon
but i can state a fact here.......ITS NOT FOR THE MONEY

being from the club i kno what was involved an how many people worked there asses off for it , even putting their houses or business's on the line for the whole thing to go ahead
and no it wasnt easy
it was majorly stressful an had friendships torn apart over it

and the amount of money made wasnt really enough to make it for example , a profitable business or anything
sure , there was some profit , but i bet nowhere near what half u people think
and no , i'm not saying how much

go ahead with whatever u want to plan yourselves
u will find out the hard way that its not easy to do properly

I can understand why so many people are getting :bad-words: off with this event, like me they have probably spent alot of time and money preparing there rigs to go to this event and keep getting told yeah it's on,no it's off, yeah it's back on,oh hang on it's back off again.
And in reply to your quote
I have not once said anything about trying to plan a new comp being easy work,And that tuff truck organiser's did'nt do it properly.
So i don't what you are trying to say here, but how about you lend a hand if you think you know so much about organising comps like this...
I have'nt seen offer for help on the other topic of NOW'S THE TIME TO SPEAK UP.
Or are you one of these people that go to comps and whinge about the way it is run,and say if
if i organised this event i would of done it this way.

i can get in contact with the dude that arranged all the right insurances for our clubs challenge (willowglen) if that is of any help as i know they have found a service provider that will cover the whole event this year.

sorry Jamie , but not interested

i'm trying to get out of the 4WD habit for a while to save some money
thats the reason for seeling my maverick
and altho i was in the club an involved with tuff truck , i didnt see half of what was done by those on the commitee
but from what i know , i wouldnt do it , cause i'm not going to put my house on the line just to run the event

to be honest i've lost interest in 4wding because of all the sydney tracks being closed down
i'm all for competitions , but general access to tracks is what its all about an where u get the interest or experience for anything more

i'm sick of having a 4wd sitting around an not using it cause i have to drive for a coupla hrs before theres anywhere decent to wheel

Tuff Truck

Post by MADSHORT »

Hotrod4x4 Sorry that u r feeling that way
So we now know that u r a looser
Cause if u were a real 4wdriver u would not give up so easy
Yes we al have 4bs sitting in our yards sitting there doing F all
If we got of our lazy arses we all could help get 4x4 back on track
At the moment some of us are trying to get CCDA (cross country drivers association) up and running across Australia to benifit everybody and hopefully encourage more events so that people like yourself can enjoy
So please dont give up . There is still hope 4 u yet
If you have a problem with anything that i am saying please fell free to PM me then i will give u my home phone number (cause stuffed if i can say what i want to say 2 a puter)
And i still believe that TUFF TRUCK is a load of shite and only intrested in making money
U did not catch on to what i was saying about the comp
Other comps r still running with good attendance by just inviting 4wd clubs 4 insurance reasons
Your comment about it being a non profitable business is BOLSHITE
cause most businesses run for more than 1 weekend per year (u work the figures out )
I dont disagree that freindship problems might have happened
But dont think that the rest of us 4wdrivers dont deserve a bit of respect unfortunately TUFF TRUCK PROMOTIONS does not think so
Cause i am sposed to be one of the competitors for the next TUFF TRUCK
but nobody has even had the DESCENCY to contact myself or other entrants about the event

i understand what u r saying Gordon , but u still missed points

i didnt say it was a non profit business.......just that it prob didnt make as much as what people think it did

and yes i agree tuff truck promotions are slack to say the least in letting people know whats going on
and i dont know much more cause havent gone to club meetings for a while........cause basically left the club

and as for the other comments
i may not b a die hard 4wder like u.....altho i still enjoy it etc
but i also have other interests , and other places to spend my money
hotrods for one
and a house for the other

so thats my choice

an your welcome to your own opinion
