Snorkel head (air ram) to suit 4" snorkel

Post by iamgq »

Hi, I am looking for a snorkel head for a 4" snorkel. Both Safari and Airtec are too small. Does anybody know where to get one?
Cheers

Kev

Is that donaldson FPG air box the 8.35" housing diameter ? Do you use the inner safety filter in addition to the outer filter?

just to update an old thread ,
I've just made a 4" snorkel to my shorty and fitted a Navara Air ram.
I had to stuff around a bit to make it fit , but I think it turned out OK .

I can get Airflow ram heads. They make ram heads for trucks too so name your size (or rather, the actual O/D of your snorkel pipe). Can get adaptor sleeves too for odd sizes.

Looks like a factory one and no it cant be 4" as it goes inside the 4" tube.

it's not to bad to do . the OD of the Factory navara air ram is about 94mm.
All I did was rolled a ring that was a tight fit in the ID or the air ram . then another one that went over the outside of the air ram ( prob dosn't make much sence , Sorry )
the outer ring was left unwelded to that when you put a clamp on the outside of the 4" snorkel the second ring can pull up tight against the inner one .
oh and the material thickness was about 2mm .
