Yokohama G001M/T's

Post by cj »

Anybody have any experience with the Yokohama G001 M/T? I was put onto them by somebody who had MTR's previously and reckoned they were better on and off-road.

Mate of mine is running them under his cruiser and has found them to be a good tyre. Only problem is that they have worn out quite fast. He has noow gone to cooper SST's and says that theya re about the same as the Yoko

The Yokos tend to have a soft rubber compound which can be a good or a bad thing. i used to run the Super Digger MTs, awesome tyre for the Zuk sadly no longer made

i'm running the Yoko's M/T. Yeah they are good off road, much quieter than the B'stone but seem to wear out a bit quicker than most. Will be buying them again as i have a brand new spare... then i think i'll go MTR's

When I got the MTR's I went to Yoko dealer in Seaford/Dande, he said if your lookin at MTR's I wont bother pricin the Yokos for you they are Expensive

Now people say they wear quick, nutha reason not to bother.

I reckon they look sweet! Roly used them try www.offroader.com.au and see the test on there.

I have geo MT/Rs and from the experience so far I think they're better on road than BFG's.

No heavy mud experience so wtch this space, but with the tread pattern mimicking the Micky thompson Baja claws I dont see problems on too many surfaces.

More experience = better report... watch this space :D

I've used them om my zook and agree with the other comments, great tyre but not for those who are concerned about tyre wear. Very good on a range of surfaces, not so flash on sand though.

maybe so on a GQ but if it is going onto a Suzuki not as much a problem. Also sometimes the fact they are a soft rubber with quick wear rate is out weighed by how they perform. Horses for courses.

As I'm looking tp put them on a zook in Melbourne I figured my relatively light weight should assist on the wear front and I want something to work in the mud down here but that can still work on the road.
