27 Mhz
??????? (Possibly AM/SSB)
TRANSCEIVER
MODEL ?????
If it is a 27 Mhz model, it's AM, not UHF and just about a waste of space these days.

in otherwords it is useless because it is an AM/SSB?
It is useless if ya want to talk on the UHF band tho being a 27mhz am/ssb its usefull and a mic would be easy to find for it DSE should have one that will work tho you will need to have someone in the know fit the 5 pin plug ..

As Lokka said, it's useless if you want to talk to people who are using UHF CB radios.
To get it to be able to talk to people using AM/SSB (of which I don't think there would be many these days, or at least would be an absolute minority) would be probably just as costly or a whole lot more stuffing around as buying a whole new second hand unit off ebay IF you really wanted to use 27Mhz.
If it were me, I'd just keep an eye out for a working second hand UHF instead.
I still keep it though just in case of emergency, AM can get much better distance more easily, or if you have others in convoy that have them, it can be much easier to have a channel to yourself, or even have a channel to talk to people without the others hearing

you wouldn't by any chance know of anyone that would sell a mic for it?
