Why- I mean it doesn't take up that much band width and it's probably one of the more important topics that been raise in a while.Breaker Brother wrote:Mods, Guys can we try to confine this to the two threads already existing, maybe put a summary at the start of one and then combine the both of them

I've signed it
Its only a matter of time before that happens in Victoria.
These "Petitions" come up regularly. Has anyone ever heard of an online petition doing ANY good?? Or being taken serious by the power that be?
Just my observations..
Their target is "Target:10000" = nowhere near enough to expect the Gov to listen to...
I would have thought 500,000 would be a target that maybe listened to. Maybe unrealistic, but 10,000 just isnt enough potential votes to scare a Gov.
10,000 they will throw in the bin.
500,000 they will take note of.
And its a shame it isnt being run by a group that appears to be respected in the community, like Hotroders. not downundertruckin, but at least it isnt 4wders... nasty killers they are
Lets see where this gets us, it cant hurt.

A bit of chit chat keeps the thread at the top and helps remind poeple to get the FiretrUCK onboard.joeblow wrote:less chit chat.....lets just get behind it.
I'm a little surprised & disappointed at how low the current count is (a measley ~800 signed)....Which is about 3% of the Outerlimits member list alone (before counting all the members of other sites where this must have been posted).
Seriously if you give have a shyte about 4x4ing, even if this doesn't currently directly effect you - you should be signing

the problem i see is that fair enough outers knows bout it and a few other forums - but average joe 4x4er that's got a lift and some tyres on his 4b to give him something to do on the weekend probably doesnt even realise this law's been introduced until its too late - maybe some kinda media power needs a properly worded email?? 2ue etc? someone to stirr up a bit of chat about it.. theres a whole heap of 4x4's out there who dont go on forums hence never hear about it - thats alot of votes
simple point - you take your young bloke to willowglen for example - road rego'd comp engineered cars etc
"can we build one like that and get into the sport for some fun" - - not anymore its illegal to do anything now.. those cars were already engineered so they were lucky but now the new law is in we cant build anything like that anymore -- less comp cars = sport dying in the behind
another example - i wanna go for a look at cape york. 50mm total lift including tyres on my GQ is stock height and some 32" tires- surely small lift limited wheel travel and small tyres will take more effort and cause more wear and tear on the track due to an in capable car trying something too big - if that makes sence lol - what im getting at is a more capable car (lift tyres etc) will climb up whatever you point it at with minimum effect on the trail itself - something less capable will struggle hence tearing the tracks up more and getting more of the limited tracks we have left closed..
but anyway thats enough typing for now " rant off "
- not happy jan lol.

i know it has been mentioned, but has the impact on jobs should be one of the main concerns the government should be thinking about, buy all means make it a little harder, but not fully illegal, i would happily go to an authorized engineer to modify my vehicle if it is then legal.... which i were planing to do any way.
just making things illegal doesn't solve the problem

new laws and regulations
Makes it hard for people who are trying to get in this industry to make a living when it looks like the almight powers at the helm take it apon themselves to tell us what is right and wrong for us to do considering most of us do the right thing to begin with....
Re: new laws and regulations
Like in the US where they planned to pay for old cars to crush by helping people buy new ones - aftermarket dies, or where they have ACTUALLY banned all bikes and motor bikes aimed at kids due to the lead content in the spoke nipples. shops shut down.projectmkduel wrote:Makes it hard for people who are trying to get in this industry to make a living when it looks like the almight powers at the helm take it apon themselves to tell us what is right and wrong for us to do considering most of us do the right thing to begin with....
