Can you gove some detail on where they bent, to the point that you are scared that they will snap ?

As tyson said , he rang me the other day to discuss this , i was a bit unsure of where they would be bent as we have been selling these for 6 years now and i have not seen a bent shackle as described ( i have seen extended shackles bend) .
I am guessing this is a bush that is damaged and that will make it will appear that the shackle may be bent due to the middle swivel point.
We will wait and see the images and go from their, like all our products we manufacture if it is a manufacturing fault it would be replaced free of charge.

i dont see a problem in how this tread was started and some people just get over defensive.working in the industry i see both sides and im sure superior would have sorted it by now as i know we would have but we also watch forums for this sort of thing on our product and then you get a say early.im sure that they would sort it out just for lack of bad publisity on an otherwise good product .like someone else said earlier we only hear the bad stories not the how great the product is stories.

I run these in my comp rig and have done for may years and had them on my ln106 before that. I've never had a problem with them and I don't look after them like I should either.

Bushes are flogged and make them look like they are sitting on a angle or bent but that doesn't stop them from working or make them dangerous.

So the shackle isn't bent at all, it's just flogged bushes?

Imagine if you'd posted a photo of your "bent shackle" and asked what was wrong" I'm sure you would have received some quick accurate advice.

Instead, you claimed a "bent shackle" which clearly, nobody believed.

You only ever get out of a forum what you put in.

If the bushes are faulty and you just purchased the shackles within a reasonable timeframe, give me a call because we were talking to the poly bush moulder today and he said it could have been a bad batch of bushes.
If this is the case the bushes will be replaced free of charge.
Give me a call during business hours

Post by brendan rooke »

Fair dinkum,

I cant beleive the crap that has been said in this thread

Anyone would think that the original post was just to put shit on superior shackles.

Just a harmless post, no bad revenue about superior at all.

I swear clowns just get on here to argue (take ya anger out elsewhere)

No complaints with superior parts here, best ive dealt with accually

I better be carefull saying that, others might think im putting crap on other companies, (my bad)

To me the centre line of the yoke greasenipple, swivel point and pivot point greasenipple are still in line with each other so i dont think the shackle is bent, ( although it does look bent when you first look at it ) i think the poly block mount has been squashed or the centre pivot poly bush has failed making it look bent .
Either way i discussed this today via email with tyson and he will hopefully be sending the shackle back for us to look at it and we will correct the problem.

The block mount runs parrallel to the main pivot shaft and about 2/3 of the pivot shaft is supported.
In the pic you can see towards the centre of the shackle it is still supported approx 2/3 but towards the spring eye it is more closed and this looks to be squashed, making it look bent .
If this is the case their is 2 reasons that could cause it.
1st - an extremely hard upward impact when the shackle is closed .
2nd - faulty poly block mount .

Are these reasonably new shackles or older? The reason I ask is the poly could be from the same batch as Tyson's which would cause the same problem. Either way your mate needs to contact us and we can arrange a replacement block mount free of charge (if these are more than a year old shackles, the block mounts cost approx $10).
