Go the swampers!!!

fellas... this is the notion that most 4 wheelers make.... wider tires are better.... NOT! not in mud it aint... you want a decently wide but yet.. narrow tire... depends on what truck you run of course, but too wide will only hinder ur progress in mud. the only time you truly want a wide tire is in sand... hence, get a mud tire thats not too wide... but when you deflate em to around 10-15 psi... they bowl out super nice and u got wide tires! just make sure your sidewalls are tough otherwise you'll rip em to shreds. jus my 2 cents worth

I thought they stopped making these years ago!!! Excellent mud tyre, ^%$#@ing noisy on the road.
I'm running 235/85 MTR's on the cruiser. Excellent in the mud and rock around Canberra. Still look like new after 10K. I used to run BFG 33's until I staked one near Hawker in SA and couldn't source a spare - had to cut short a Flinders Range trip. Next trip was on BFG Trac Edge in 235/85 -no dramas.
I'm running 33 x 10.50 x 15 BFG MTs on my Patrol on the 7" rim. Good size i reckon for the daily driving and general touring, high country 4wheeling I do in it. Fits under the guards, looks the right size and performs for me. A little hard to get although not a great drama seems that Townsville has the stock pile of them as I had to order 3 in from there and so did a mate of mine.
I am running the 34 x 9.50 x 15 Swamper on my Zook and they rock. Great in mud, good grip on rocks bag nice ly and the best thing with the skinny tyres is the less starin on components compared to say a 12.5' wide tyre also easy to keep under guards and I find nicer to drive on road with them.

Ransom note = demand + collage
The 265/75x16's are basically a 32x10.5 x16 and they work well on the 8" rims.
Recently went up to 285/75x16's to get extra height but with that comes extra width. If the 255's fit the 16x8's I might try them next time.

There was a 'cruiser in our club running 255's on standard GXL cruiser rims, but I think they're meant for 8"s. I considered them for mine, but the extra cost, plus new rims ( to replace the 4Runner rims I'm using) didn't pass the finance minister. ANyway, I'm happier with the MTR's. I only squeezed a usable 40K out of the BFG muddies.
Hi
only 33in tyres for 16 inch rims are 255/85/16 BFG MT and
Cooper ST 255/85/16 , these are 33.2 inch.
Both go on 6.5 to 8 inch rims
The 235/85 are just under 32in.
Currently running 235/85/16 on my 4800 patrol - the larger 255 cooper st is approximately the same tread width as 235 (+5mm)
