GQ Gen 3 conversion

Post by Pooptrol »

Howdy peoples im in the process of doing a gen 3 conversion into my gq and ive just pulled out the efi 4.2 leaving the wiring harness connected to it.What i want to know is the harness which connects to the manuel gearbox which ive unplugged,do i need that part of the harness or does the new harness go in its place. The new harness ive got is also out of a manuel. Also does all the emission connect up to it easy or do i not need it at all?

Thanks in advance

Brad

An LS1 harness will not go in place of the GQ gearbox harness. You will need to keep that section of the original patrol harness.

Emission gear is pretty basic on an ls1 - all it has is the purge valve which connects to the charcoal canister which the GQ should have anyway

Be best to speak to the guy that is gonna wire it, everyone does it different. If it was done with one of my universal looms then you can remove all the other original engine stuff, But some guys use the factory gq stuff to connect up the alt, gauges, starter.
