GQ CARBON FIBRE PANELS & DOORS

Post by enginefactory »

Hi Guy's,

Just wandering how many of you would be interested in getting carbon fibre panels for your GQ's??

We are talking about 100% carbon fibre, no bullsh#t fibreglass mixed in etc

The company I'm dealing with have been building carbon fibre products for over 15 years now; they build stuff for heaps of race cars, motor sports, aircraft etc thats all they do. They are the best in the industry and have recently built a heap of stuff for many Paris - Dakar competitors from 4wds to m-bikes etc.

At the moment I'm contemplating getting the moulds done for my own truck. The carbon fibre is incredibly strong, half the weight of aluminium and lighter than fibreglass. And it looks great.

The carbon fibre bonnets are so strong that you can stand on them and they won't buckle or flex; and will be attached to the original fixings etc.
Otherwize we can choose the removeable option? If you have any good designs with scoops, air vents or lights pods, please provide pics and I'll try to get costs for them?

Cost of bonnet for now was between $1200 - $1500

Complete doors, driver and passenger side with all the fixings, window winders etc are also available. Will bolt back onto the vehicle using standard hinges. Again if you have a particular modified version please provide pics.

Cost of complete doors for now was between $1500 - $2000

Front quater panels are also available. If you have a particluar modified one thats wider, or been trimmed to suit bigger tyres etc please provide pics that show the actual difference between standard and original?

Cost of quater panels for now was between $1000 - $1400

A complete dashboard is also available, however if you'd want to change the satandard one to suit gauges and switches etc; please provide pics of it?

Cost of dashboard for now is between $1800 - $2300

IF THE GENERAL VOTE IS FOR A PARTICULAR PANEL/S THAT EVERYONE DECIDES ON, CAN / OR WILL THE PERSON WHO HAS IT, SEND IT TO ME TO GET A MOULD MADE UP???

IT WILL BE RETURNED IN THE SAME STATE THAT IT WAS SENT.

Don't expect a prompt response from me for the next few weeks as I'm going away and will be back around the 15th May. I may however log remotely if I get a chance?

Can somone tell me how to load pics onto this post, I've got a couple of a pics of a bonnet recently made for an overseas comp truck?

Cheers,

Mark

Unfortunately no one seemed interested in the idea, but I still went ahead and had a bonnet with light pod made up.

The idea of geting more people in on this was that the overall costs would drop alot more. It would end up costing the same as fibreglass panels.

I'm still keen on the idea if more people wanted to get invloved.

Cheers,

Mark
