I reckon something as simple as a large, properly organised (by the 4wd association or a club) car rally with 150+ 4wd's crammed into the minister's office carpark or driving to picket (without violence) parliament house would be effective. If the police were informed/requested to escort the large line of 4wd's it'd get way more attention than anything else.

Has any of the clubs contacted these guys yet? http://www.ufwda.org/index.htm They're supposed to represent 4wd'ers worldwide, and i'm sure if the minister was getting international attention he'd sit up and think about it a bit harder!

cheers
Didn't even know they existed to be honest, thanks for pointing them out ;) I'll be in touch with them tonight to see if they are acting on it or not.
Cheers

Thats what i'm saying. I reckon we've gotta get out there and make a point. I might give the 4wd association of nsw a call and see if they have any plans of anything

Is there any chance I can get a couple things cleared up?

I have a GQ thats engineered fully engineered and legal for 35's right now.
How am I going to go after 1st of Augest?

Some one tried telling me that theres a meeting on Wednesday (Or something), That is to have something to do with all engineer certs being taken away or something?
Or is that just the certs as of the 17/7 (Read that somewhere aswell).

There's just so many different things going around!

Unless something new is published, then it will remain engineered and legal.

 and the P plates. Actually the back tyres are now flat and the petrol flap is open, so I can only assume it needs more fuel now too.

Nobody gets through this town without passing the police, they are very very active here.

I kid you not, I've come into a roundabout a couple of months ago, just down this hill from the red canary commodore, and this ute P plater comes tearing into the roundabout, spins it and flys out the other side backwards taking out the give way sign. I pull over to see if hes ok and before I can get out, a cop car pulls up nose down, he jumps out and points his gun a this fella - gets him out of the car and in cuffs on the ground before 2 other copper cars turn up!

Have you contacted them?
yes i fired off an email to them but as i'm not part of any club or 4wd entity i think it best if the 4wd assoc contacts them. I will be contacting the nsw 4wd assoc tomorrow to let them know that the UFWDA.ORG exists, in case they don't know already.

Totally agree. While emails and letters and petitions are nice, if we're not physically visible as a unified, sensible, intelligent voice then there's only so much attention & change we can create.

now all they need is an NCOP on how to determine lift height.

Ask ANY transport officer the "ADR approved method of determining STD or Lifted vehicle height!"
They can't tell you........... It is purely a speculative answer and not one of them will sign off on it!

At the moment all they have to go off is the OE suspension specifications, and if you read the NCOP proposal that is what the lift rulings are primarily based around.

Im going to ring tommorrow and check but does it mean after the 1st of August all previously engineered vehicles will be "illegal" or just unengineered?
Im goin through the engineer process for the 2nd time on the same vehicle (waited 12months for my report to be written after it passed and I payed)
So if paperworks not in by 1st (have to be viewed at carrington and its 2 week wait) is my current cert void and I go back to the old one?

* A message from the GF *

I have been a labour voter for Australia . This law is ridiculous , if we live in a demacratic society and pay our TAXES we should at least have a say . Micheal Daley drives a prius , Send you're concerns also to Malcolm Turnbull for support . He drives a Toyota Hilux on his farm in the Hunter Valley . I'll be voting for liberal next time . Just beware of the shooters party , they want us out and them in our , all of our's 4wd's recreational area's .

Rick from BBM mentioned to me that he heard that Shannons are organising a petition signing gathering in Newcastle. I can't get up there for it, but anyone that can should.
This Tuesday night 28th there will be a petition for you all to sign at Energy Australia Stadium from 7.30pm regarding the VSI 50 legislation on vehicle suspension laws, please let everyone know it will be there and please give your support its time for people power.

I have contact with the Hon Roy Smith (Shooters party NSW).
After conversing with him, he has now ordered all the relevant documents from Mr Daleys office, and will get back to me on where the party stands.
At this point, with my rundown, it looks like we will have their backing.
Will come back with more as I get it.....

How did you manage to get contact with him. The best i got was a reply to an email saying he'd look into the matter

Here's something I came across while researching the issue. It's from the Police Minister when he introduced the anti-hoon laws to parliament last year

“The hoon activity of a few should not be allowed to disturb the peaceful enjoyment of many”

Might pay to remind these politicians of this in our letters.

If only the Minister for Roads had read this.

You can find the whole of it here
