RJ70 front diff question

Post by RANUKI »

Yeah I know search, done that and cant find what I need.

Can anyone tell me if a cruiser (80 series) front centre (3rd) will go into an RJ70.

I ask because a mate just bought a set of lux 4.8's for his RJ, the rear is fine but the front carrier has different webbing and interfears with the track rod.

Are there any other options to get a 4.8 into the front (aside buying new gears), we have been told that the ring gear wont fit his current carrier so that is not an option, I think his was the 4.3.

Thanks,
Benno

Remember that the bundera has a high pinion (reverse rotation) centre in the front, and the hilux hasn't, it is a good thing he couldn't get it to fit as the front wheels would have been going in the oposite direction to the rears.
Peter.
Cable bracing is the way of the future!
