HELP i can't figure out why my windscreen wipers dont work

Post by 31zook »

The motor turns, and there is power, but nothing works??? it sort of goes up about 2/8ths then stops and wont go back??? i hot wire it with another battery and it goes from the bottom to the top and a little way back. I'm going for a blue slip tomorrow... would it have anything to do with the little gear on the wiper (not the motor) being out of time? If someone was nice enough could you pull your front windscreen down and take a photo of where the wiper gear sits at the bottom please i would really appreciate it.

Zooks have problems with the mounts, it may have busted off and is slopping around. It sounds like it could be a dash out job.

I had the same problem with mine just last week. Mine turned out to be a seized wiper mount, is the shaft that connects the wiper arm to the linkages, through the windscreen. Easy to access in a soft top, just removed it, freed it up and re-greased it. They work a treat now. Just a suggestion, Aaron.

hey everyone still no luck...due to not trying over the last couple of days , but the motor when hot wired turns. I put shorter bolts in it so the linkages don't hit then i got it to do a couple of full rotations, but then it wouldn't turn back on again so i's a bit annoying. Is the wiper motor ment to be giving off a pos current? When you get my curcuit tester (a little light in a pen) it lights up when one end is on the zook body and one is on the wiper motor. Should it do that?
