hey everyone im putting a hifplowed t3 off a vl onto my td 42 with a high mount manifold. and im needing to cut the dump pipe and weld my own 3" steem pipe bend onto it. i was just tyring to find some info on welding to the cast dump as ive seen people have done it, was wondering what welder and what rods/wire you used and if you heated it first or not any info would be greatly apreciated cheers tye.

mig, no heat and use gas and wire

if it were me, i'd get a new T3 flage and start from scratch, cosidering you're cutting and welding anyway, i think ebay has flanges.

the waste gate is integrated with the dump other wise i would be buying a flange and making a new dump pipe. the dump is made from cast steel so that why im wondering bout heating because im worried it might crack the cast.

Preheat the dump pipe, weld with Cast welding rods and then allow to cool slowly to avoid cracking
