Post by waandy »

i have bought a td42 and am going to freshen it up for a turbo. i will strip it down and c whats in need of a reco. i thought itd probably need a set of rings, hone the liners or even a new set, and bottom end bearings. what would be the rough cost of this and are these the fairly common things to do?

gudday

I wouldn't bother honing if there's bad wear, go the new liners as there's is very little play with until you'll strike water!

set of good pistons, rings and liners over here are about $2300.00 + gst and that's with 2 left over as the TD27 kits come in sets of 4 only.
the bearing shells are extra

good luck
