What could be causing this to happen?
The head + gasket has just been done, (thought it was the head)
But it still drians the radiator into the sump after about 12 hours??????
I would have said oil cooler but its petrol not diesel.....

pull the water pump off and you will see that where the impellor runs close to the timing cover may be corrodedmhgill wrote:What could be causing this to happen?

did you take a good look, is it pitted at all? is it cracked?mhgill wrote:Pulled the water pump off today, and the timing cover looks ok (as far as I can see)
What's next? I think i'll have to put the water pump back on, fill it with water and drop the sump off so I can see excatly where its dripping from...?
also the welshplugs that you note MAY also be a possibilty,
Who done the head? did you crack test it properly?
did you check the hex head plugs in the top of the head for leaks or cracks between plugs. is compression good? i have seen someone put a head on and fold the gasket up on one end of the head and bolt it on( leaky leaky)
