Hey all,
Just had a couple of questions...
Ive got a 79 series ute, 1hz 4.2L Diesel motor with extractors, 33inch wranglers, Everything else stock...Would there be much of a power increase with a 3 inch exhaust? And is there any use in installing a Power Chip? Which 1 if so?
Also wondering if the anti-rust chips work well? Which ones the best to buy?
Any info appreciated!,
Cheers, Dan.

both the 1HZ and the 1HD-T are mechanically injected engines with no electronics.neilpatrol wrote:A 1hz is a mechanical engine which hasn't got a computer the 1hdt does. 3" non turbo will just make noise, you'd be better off saving up for a turbo kit then do the exhaust mate.
Rust proofing works well or electronic rust proofing does also, all depends on your budget.
there are gains to be had from a 1HZ with extractors and free flowing exhaust, especially in the midrange, however the cost of a full high quality exhaust system is in the $1000 range - it is better if you can save for a turbo if you want a real power increase.
electronic rustproofing is a gimmick, a bit of fish oil spray is a far better investment.
