Hilux lift
I am taking my Hilux 93 LN106 from 2" lift to 3" lift, the problem that Im having is finding 1" extended shackles. Does anyone know where i can order a set from. My other problem is, im not sure whether i have everything in place to go the extra 1". I have the 3" shocks, extended the brake lines, have a adjustable draglink ready to put on, will move the exhaust and remove the center bearing and fit a one piece drive shaft. Can anyone tell if im missing any mod to achieve 3" lift.
Re: Hilux lift
For a start you will need a 2" extended shackle to get a 1" lift!!flak wrote: Can anyone tell if im missing any mod to achieve 3" lift.
Superior Engineering, Snake Racing and a few other places should have these available.
Just had a look on the Snake racing website, they say there shackles are 75mm longer than standard and should give a 50mm lift.
Just to expand on what I said before as you are only putting the shackles on 1 end of the spring you will get roughly half the amount of lift compared to the extra shackle length. This will vary slightly depending on whether the diff is located centrally on the spring, ie: get a bit less lift if the diff is mounted slightly foward of the spring centre, this is because you are moving the spring about a radius, the further the diff is away from the pivot point (fixed end of the spring) the more lift the incresase in shackle length will give.
