Laminating Rear Lower Control Arms
It is a total waste of time drilling those holes in your strongback.
It is only as strong as the weakest point , and that will be each hole.
You may as well not bother welding those on and do it properly unless you are just trying to acheive an illegal looking part on your 4x4.

If you are putting a strongback on we usually put it on top , so you dont lose clearance and if you drop really hard sideways on a rock with it welded beneath their is a chance you will bend it over.
Use minimum of 25x10 stitch welded , opposite to each other so most of the strongback is welded .
Any heat near the bushes will delaminate them so it will be best to fit new bushes after modifying the arms and only use rubber preferably genuine. Hope this helped.

'89 Hilux Single Cab - 3RZ, 35" Kreepy Krawlers, 4.88's, F & R Air lockers, RUF, Longfields, TG Highsteer, Highmount and no money
i made mine up the other day, and just finished welding them all on
i used 32x10mm steel. stich welded them on.
i had enough steel left over so i did my uppers as well, i no probs not much need to but had nothing else to do at the time.
the lower arms are 600mm long with 45* at each end. 9mm holes drilled in.
the upper arms are 330mm long with 45* at each end and 9mm holes.
