hi newbie here

Post by Mattsace »

Gday I am a new member and have just purchased a 99 DX 4.2 diesel, it has alot of kms on the clock at 34,5000, it seems to run well, cold starts 1st go and runs without skipping a beat. Fingers crossed she is trusty gal and will be reliable to me.
I have a few plans for it and my first few are, to put a turbo on it and a 3 in lift so i can run 35's.

Can people point me in the right direction as to:

1. what sort of turbo i should go and what else needs to be done to fit a turbo onto it? any approx cost's?

2.Will a 3 in lift be adequate for running 35's ?

3. will I need to change diff ratios to run 35's or will the standard diff work properly?

I currently have a TB42 swb 89 patrol and its been a trustworthy car ,now its time to upgrade and get a wagon as i plan some longer trips in the future, so will be needing some hints and advice.

thanks in advance
Matty ;)

BTW i have done some research on this site and spoken to mates, but I am wanting other opinions before i spend lots of $$$$$$$$ on mods ;)

Hi I have tried a few searches on the site and it comes back with every post on the whole forum, wether its related to a GU turbo or a hilux tray conversion or a range rover fuel consumption

I am new to this outer limits forum so it may take some time to navigate around the site.
advice is gratefully accepted
cheers :?
