Wanted... Decent Brisbane Nissan Service Dept

Post by jakam04 »

Hey peoples,

As the subject says, Can anyone recommend a decent service department (Brisbane)who know what customer service is, who wont tell you bullcrap and leave you hanging four days stating they are waiting for permission from Nissan when Nissan replied within 42 minutes of request arriving at Nissan HQ.

Ive had my 08 Patrol sitting in a certain dealership with the Transfer case stuffed. I was told that a request had been sent into Nissan HQ to gain permisson to either repair or replace the Transfer Case. I was then told last night that they (The Dealer) were still waiting for permission. I asked the woman in the service dept could she call Nissan to find out whether approval is coming? She categorically stated that she couldnt do that as its not the done thing...

I recieved a call from Nissan Australia doing the usual call see if I was Happy with my new Vehicle... The poor girl didnt what hit her when I explained the speel (Story) in more than necessary animation. She then checked things out and called me back stating that an approval had been sent 42 minutes from reciept of request.

I then called the Nissan Dealership and spoke to the Service Manager. I asked if there was anymore news on approval for repair. He stated that no approval had arrived. I then went into telling him that Approval had been sent 42 minutes after request was sent.. I also stated that being that Service dept wouldnt call Nissan... I would have been waiting for anywhere up to 6 weeks till they got off their Butts and checked for what was taking NIssan in their replying with authority...

The service manager then went to check a few things out and called back... Amazingly enough, he stated that he didnt know when Authority had arrived and that the Transfer case had been ordered that morning and that it wouldnt arrive till sometime on Tuesday...

With their track record... I reckon the case will be ordered on Monday and he was just bullcrapping me to get me off his back... Needless to say, I will not be visiting that particular deaalership ever again...

I will travel to either southside, inner west or north east side of Brissy... even Toowoomba just to get decent service..

or

Maybe I should just go find a decent Ultratune or somewhere else that does warranty friendly servicing.

Hard to tell whose telling the truth on that one. Dealers don't usually shy away from warranty work, it's free money for them.

Usually in my experience its the manufacturer who drags the chain because the money comes out of their pockets not the dealers!

I doubt they could have possibly made a decison on a t/case in 42 mins. That sought of repair (due to it's serious nature) would often be inspected by a Rep from Manufacturer HQ before any work would be authorised. A dealer is just that, they do not authorise repairs such as this on thier own.
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.

They do when its happened prior... maybe a weakness in the models in a particular serial number group. Heard that this happened to a bloke with his work ute and the Transfer case was replaced quickly without fuss..

As posted by a member of another forum:

One of our work cars was a brand new 3litre patrol... Done less than 6000kms.. And the transfer case went boom.. on a bitumen road!!!!!!
Apparently Nissan have admitted they have a problem with 'some' patrols.. The S/N on the work car matched up to their list (supposedly) and they acknowledged there was an issue and covered it under warranty... Without even the hint of an argument!!
Get them to check the S/N on your transfer case.. and maybe replace it as well if its on the 'list'..
