15x10 rims for MK
15x10 rims for MK
looking to widen the stance of my MK - I currently have 15x8 LC offset with 35x12.5 trepadors.
i want to go for a wider offset 15x10...
where can i get some cheap?
or would i be better off going for a wider offset 15x8?
if so, what offset?
or should i get my rims cut and flipped to the offset i require?

hard to say...number of questions there.
I personally do not like real wide tires, ie wide rims. I guess it depends on the kind of wheeling you do. But wider will also put more strain on your diff bearings. You will get a fair share more sidewall buldge with the 15x10 rims.
If it was me....I would change the offset/backspacing. I would also look into wheel spacers for a quick fix.

i like my rocks and hard terrain crawling. the odd bit of beach work....
the 15x8s i currently have sit just under my stock MK flares...but with the heighT i have and dropped front xmember and dropped rear shackle mount i need more width. its just too tall and not wide enough.

the car doesnt get driven that often as I have another little shorty to drive as a daily and also a vy calais.

I would say more offset in the rims or go with wheel spacers. If it doesn't get driven much except to 4wd then wheel spacers maybe the go. Just beaware they have a tendancy to loosen up.
If it is not SoA I don't see why it should be to high? Have you rolled it or come close before? Does it feel tippy? Got everything you can out of the suspension to make it flex to the max?

its got 6" lift + dropped front xmember and dropped rear shackle mount + the 35's.
before dropped xmember/mounts and longer shocks. the rear has another 1-2" of flex left in it.



the dropped xmember and mounts for better shackle angle and ride quality.
front shackle mount moved back 25mm and rear forward 25mm. will also improve flex. it feels a little tippy just cuz the width isnt there! i need an extra 25-50mm either side.

rear suspension is too soft
front suspension is too stiff
leaving the rig "unbalanced" thus giving the "feeling" of instability.
more pics showing the suspension maxed out will probably confirm it

It's too soft in comparision to the fronts flexing ability in the pics provided.
Its all about BALANCE ..... & your pics show a huge inbalance in the suspensions ability.
You have a small rock yet the fronts movement is minimal, the rears movement however is taking nearly ALL the flex required to "mount the rock"
Basically your driving a 3 wheeler & we all know how unstable they are !
So you've added 4" longer shocks..... add some upgraded pics showing the suspension's new flex ( preferably on the same rock )
If you havent altered the springpaks then I'll hazzard a guess and say the pics will still show an unbalanced suspension setup....

i wish i had a car as stable as a mk,my old zuk and hilux just dont compare.
dad has one with 5" lift and just 8" LC rims etc, i think they are a tuff old trucks that work well,in saying that if you dont drive it on road often and can get spacers for cheap they would be good,i dont know if you can get better offset 8's without flipping can you??
