Trail Gear diff breathers.
Has anyone used the Trail Gear diff breathers and are they available here in Australia?

After sucking a gutful of water into my diffs and redoing the front end, I want to re do the breathers front and rear.
On my old Hilux i used the hose and filter method with good results but I'm looking for something a little tidier and not having to run hose everywhere and the Trail Gear ones look like they fit the bill perfectly.
Anyone had experience with these breathers or can recommend something similar?

i was looking/ thinking of a nice easy/ neat way to do diff brethers. this way looks nice, but i hate waiting for things to be ordered in!
could i connet a line from the top of the dif then the other end into the air box? this way it would be filtered air and it will be as dry as what the engine is brething.
would this work ok or not?

Correct me if I'm wrong but breathers also vent outwards which would mean it would vent into the airbox? only if the diff oil made it up the line into the airbox... pretty unlikely given the expansion/contraction likely in a diff housing. Also, having it in the airbox where theres a snorkel etc attached would mean positive pressure in the airbox pushing down the diff's airline.

its probably easy to pressurise the airbox with a snorkel. The vacuum WILL create a low pressure in the diffs/gearbox/transfer and when going through water, they will suck water in past the seals.
99% of all externally facing seals only seal one way....

Glad you said it, Maybe in a comp rig but I would never seal any diff housing ( thats what you are doing with these) on a daily driven rig. 99% of hub seals I do at work are due to blocked breathers And something that has the volume of approximatly 100c will never allow for for the expansion of approx 20L of oil and air. I tried this on my TD 80series, there was definite signs that oil was being drawn up from diffs into the air box.
And a snorkel is not going to give any measurable 'ram' effect at the speed any street driven 4by will reach
