hands free uhf

I have a uniden hand held uhf atm are they all compatable? Can i just buy the mic etc for it or would i need to buy a new complete unit? (It is a good few years old now)

Im wondering where to get the hands free bits that all the guys seem to be using in comps.

Would appreciate any help offered

The setups that are used by most at comps are bluetooth, not uhf.

Generally made by Blue ant. Which have unfortunatly discontinued the model most are using. So if you find stock anywhere buy it while you can.

I went on a club trip where a bloke had VOX, and you heard everything he said, even shit non club related between him and his missus...

Not sure if they are all that sensitive, just somethin to keep in mind.

Like i have on the Motorbike you can get a push to talk button to fix that. Could even mount it on the steering wheel

And just as annoying are ones that get activated due to normal road noise and transmit continually. Causes problems for the rest of the group and you can't even tell the @#$% to turn the thing off........

road noise would be a prob as i want to use it for two different jobs. One being 4wding. The other to set up on the young blokes go-kart during practice.

would somthing like this work?
