85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers, ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
I put a second hand DP on the 1HD-FTE in my 80 series. Haven't dyno'd before or after but it definately goes harder and boosts up earlier. Not earth shattering but certianly noticeable and worthwhile. Don't have before fuel figures but I can easily get low 12l/100k's with 35's and driving moderately (that is on or 5-10k's over the speed limit on most road conditions except BIG hills and including some city work)
So I'm happy with mine, even more so knowing I paid $400 for it.

Well worth it in my book
Ive got one in my 79 series & its is very noticable I reckon it almost gives you another gear
I also sell them to
I was that impressed with it I became a distrbutor for them
Cheers Dan

They work as advertised. The maximum gain will be made below maximum power though.
Of all the units fitted in the last 6 years, we have only had 2 people use the money back guarantee offered. It will also cover you in the driveline warranty area as well. I have never heard of any vehicle damaged because of one fittted.
Fuel economy is derived by how you drive it. Go up a hill quicker because you will be able to and you will use more fuel.

thanks andy
bearing in mind this is a new work vehicle that I want a reliable 7-10 years of hard work from would a chip be a wise idea?? Its got respectable preformance now but a little more would be tops but not at the expense of overall engine life.
cheers andrew

The Dp chip or any other unit won't make the vehicle get an extra 50% at maximum power ratings. What will probably happen is maximum power will go from say 80rwkw to 88rwkw. Below that, when the vehicle did have 50-60rwkw at 2-3000rpm, you will have 60-75rwkw at the same area. Its not making the vehicle any more stressed, just improving the lower area.
The above is just a general idea of how it behaves, as we haven't fitted a unit to a Transit van, its only what we see on other vehicles.
