Noisy Tappets

Post by reprise »

Hi All,

I have a 03 Wrangler and it seems i have a sticky lifter/noisy ticking tappets. Was just wondering if anyone knows anything to get rid of the noise?? I've tried flushing the engine without success. Some people mentioned there was some cleaning agent that can be run through once which can do the trick, but i havent been given the names. Any ideas as the ticking is really frustrating.
Thanks!!

If you want tot try it its up to you but you can run about say 1L of kerosene through the engine oil at say 1500 to 2000rpm for like 10 mins and drain the oil and change the filter. I have done this before on other cars and its cleaned out the gunk in the lifters and got rid of noise. Depends how bad the noise is if it's real bad u may have to put in new lifter
Give a man fish and feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
