Post by Midnight Middy »

I have a standard fj73 with the 3f 5 speed manual and was wondering if the 1fzfe is a straight swap over.
cheers.

Wouldnt be to hard, by a wrecked FZJ75 and swap everything over to your middy, but of cutting and welding etc. Wiring loom and all should work fine just need to add the circuits that are middy specific, ie rear lights and wipers. Or get a import middy with a 1FZ in it already. Did see a FZJ70 sell locally not long ago for 3K

if you wannted to stick with a petrol motor it would definatly be a worthwhile conversion havinge driven both motors

try and get a later model one 95+ as they are slightly different and have more power

Yes, i also agree it's not an entirely easy conversion...
I'm in the process of doing the job myself and it aint easy. But what engine conversion is!

if you havent allready got the motor why not stick a 350 chev in it ...more torque most of the stuff ie power steering pump,ac,alternator is retained in same spot .....and the fuel economy couldnt be any worse
