Post by scat wench »

im still in search of front panel for my F50 DAIHATSU SCAT. as i cant find it in australia, it seems that america, new zealand and uk are my best options.. not quite sure what a scat is referred to in each of these countries.. which is making it hard.. anyone know of any contacts or parts dealers for daihatsu overseas. if so it would really help.. cheers, scat wench

In the UK they are just refered to by the numbers, ie F50, in most of mainland europe they are a Daihatsu Taft and in Germany they are Wildcats. Certainly in the UK I think you may struggle to find the parts you want, while we have got a lot of Fourtraks (Rockys) and Sportraks (Feroza) the older ones are pretty rare. There is a list of uk parts dealers at http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/dealers and from that I think Milner 4x4, Grahem Dewhurst and Birmingham Motor Parts are your best bets but I wouldnt hold out too much hope. Also if you look on the classifieds on that site there are a pair of fibreglass wings listed. Otherwise I think you just need to keep an eye on ebay, I have had a few bits and pieces off there over the last couple of years including some brand new panels still with the main dealers stickers on them.

You may also want to try having a look at www.daihatsu4x4.eu which is a forum based in Belguim, they seem to have a reasonable following there and I seem to remember mention of one dealer in particular in Belguim who still had a lot of new parts. The site uses similar software to outerlimits so you can work out how to register if you have both sets of pages open at the same time. Once you are registered there are a good number of them who speak and write good English. If you want to register on diahatsu4x4 and are having problems send me a pm with your email address and I will forward you some instructions i wrote for another guy from the UK explaining what to put in what box on the registration form. Alternatively the guy who runs that website is registered on here as Dieter and definately speaks good English.
