has anyone rigged up a A/C sytem for there siera using a vitara system and 1.6l?
and did any siera alternators or viatar alternators put out around the 70-80 amp mark, as my standard 35 amp alternator makes me choose between headlights and stereo.

Hi.
I cant help you with your A/C question, but the best alternator upgrade available is to fit a Falcon 100/110A alternator. It is 'almost' a straight bolt in, and will give you all the grunt you need. Do a search for "EF / EL Falcon Alternator Upgrade" in this forum and you will find heaps of info.
Cheers,
Pez

Look in The Bible for youre alternator question.
As for aircon, you can pretty much mix n match components and get it to work but you have to know what you are doing (and legally have a licence which i luckily do so i can do myself).
I have not yet done it, but im running a Baleno 1.6 which is for all practical purposes the same engine as Vitara. Im going to use the original Baleno aircon pump and condensor, and i was going to TIG up a box to sit up under dash containing the Baleno evaporator core, but came across an aircon box and core from a Holden Drover (same as Sierra) at the wreckers a year or so ago, so im going to use that instead.
