Looking at putting on 31's onto my swb NT.
With the 3.9 diffs(i think) and a 1L transfer will this bring the gearing down to roughly running 30x9rs??
Also what is needed to run this size. I have read up and think a 2" lift, 1" extended shackles should be ok and hamming seams. Maybe bodylift if needed.

I have seen 32 inch mongrels on a 1.0 (Powered by a 1.3) it cleared them with a 2 inch body lift and some trimming/massaging of the guards.

I'm running 30x9.5 on a narrow track swb. so I have 3.9 ratio diffs with stock xfer. goes well, have noticed that it goes a bit quicker in low range.
only thing I did to fit these was trim original bumber (front). I then put a different bumber on for bling factor.
am going to put 31 simex centipedes on it, with 5.12 wide track diffs. this will basically eat the wheel arch out if I try to drive anywhere. so I am going to cut the guards out to keep it low.
I have the wide tracks just waiting to get my tires and diff centres. have these lined up waiting for them to get to sydney.

all you need is a 2" body lift , but if your using f100 rims the 31x10.5's will hit the front springs at full lock and when articulated will rub on the rear inner wheel arch , in conjunction with a 2" lift it'll still hit . no major problem though just dont go full lock or instal longer bolts in the steering stops .
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

My 34's are on a 6 inch rim with 2.5 inches of backspacing (flipped rims), i think big steve has just had the same done to a set of 7" rims to fit his 34's on too.
Mine also fit okay when i was running the 6" rims with stock backspacing (i think that was 3.5" of backspacing).
So my suggestion is that you should be able to fit the tyres you want with any backspacing really - but obviously less backspacing will create a wider stance, and increase your scrub radius (so don't go too far with it).
