Buying a GU

Post by Troy76 »

I am looking at buying a GU, 2000 to 2004 model. What is there that I need to look out for on these. And are all the 3.0 ltr diesels intercooled?.

Any help would be great.

Troy.

Try to get a later one. The early 3 litre ZD30 engines had reliability issues. Not sure what year the issue was addressed, but I have just leased a 6/05 3 litre Patrol.

ZD30 fine for touring provided you don't overload it!
TD42T great all rounder a little sluggsih without spending $$$
TB45 Petrol Also great engine, purchases price will leave you with lots of money for mods plus only have to serviced every 10,000ks not 5,000ks like the others! Also Petrol is cheaper than diesel!!!

What are you using car for. Daiily driver with a bit of towing some 4x4?
Or full on Outback tourer?
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.
