G'day all,
I am looking at upgrading the mighty 2.8 engine in the beast to something with a little more power, torque and reliability. I am not going to attempt this myself, as my mechcanical knowledge isn't that good.
Do I drop in
I) Gen 3
II) 4.2 litre turbo diesel Nissan (if I can find one)
III) 6.5 Chev
At this stage it is only a plan, but all ideas and advise are helpful.

I voted for that too but all of those poll options actually have some pluses to them.BOOSTED GQ wrote:x3 you cant go past the TD42 built tough pumping in a sh!t load of fuel and boost. Its not cheap but well worth it.
In some respects the Gen III is the best option but it depends on what you want to get out of the vehicle.

iv already spent 15000 on it (turbo, pump, injectores, cooler,piping, water rail in head, and alot of boost) but rebuilding it with jpc pistons, custom grind cam, ported head and big valve angles, turbo rods, getting my turbo re built and same with the pump and the injectors and get all re balanced,and a plenum, exhaust manifold ect... and a hell lot of boost
