Help!

Post by Bundy79 »

hi guys hoping someone can help!

i have a 86 bundy with a 22r in it. after long drives about 100kms at an average 100km/h (i live out west)

When i turn the car off and it sits for a few mins i try to turn it on and it really labours to start and then usually dies within a few minutes, it feels like it is starving of fuel, i try to give it a b it of gas to keep it going and it seems to retard. I have checked lines, filter. after approx 30-40 mins it goes again fine around town but exactly the same thing happens when i drive out of town, it has got me stumped.

cheers

Vacuum lock in the tank maybe. try opening the fuel filler cap and see if you get an inrush or air.

Vapour Lock ??? Google it to get an idea of the theory of it. Had the same problem when we fitted a 22r to an RN36 Hilux years and years ago.
Just a thought. Regards Mick
