Wheel arches

Post by Chunked »

Just a quick question.

Did they increase the size of the wheel arches (width) in later year model ferozas?

I see one or two a week and I swear some of them have bigger arches.

Might be paranoid, who knows :P

The later Feroza II (F310) has wider "flares" to fit bigger rubber under those arches.

I think you'll find you have pretty much the same amount of clearance on F300/F310.

even when you take the plastic of the wide track it doesnt give you alot more clearence.

Rubber still scrubs in turning

Sheetmetal is identical between narrow and wide.

Bolt on widetrack flares actually make the width issue worse as you cant cut them away like the sheetmetal as theres nothing to hold up the rear of the flare.

31"s touch hard enough to damage the guargs quite badly if you use hard... anything more is a BIG problem.

You need flares that are longer to solve the issue - basically right back to the leading edge of the front door.
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
