Was having a great wheel on the weekend and after about 4 hours my patrol, had lots of sparks and absolutly dead! No clock, lights, dash nothing!
All fuses seem to be in working order???
Thinking that computer has been fried, and truck will probably need a rewire.
i have not long had the truck and ironically was going to the autolec this week to have a major tidy up......i am now thinking this will cost me WAY more than expected a week ago..
When i pulled out the aftermarket comp it says, "Autronic - Fuel injection - Advanced controls - Melbourne Australia" Does anyone know where in Melbourne this computer would have been purchased??, or anywhere else who will test that computer for me. I have sent 100338 emails to everyone and anyone who had a hand in building the truck trying to find out details ASAP!! (have a comp coming up very soon)
Any info would be great don't bother commenting a half smart comment..

Clock will have nothing to do with engine computer, as will illumination lights (if that's what you are referring to).
More specifics on what works, what doesn't work, and exactly where the "sparks" were (under dash/in engine bay/in engine computer, etc)
If you want accurate helpful answers remember, "garbage in = garbage out". Concise accurate information helps....

George Carlin, an American Comedian said; "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise that half of them are stupider than that".
i would be checking battery terminals, and main fusible links before goin to far. If you have lost dash and all, than i would not go lookin for an ecu fault untill you have that lot working. Sounds like a main power supply type fault.'

Google mate..
http://www.autronic.com.au/
try the dealer search for something close to you.
But in what you have said sounds like a fusible link or something along those lines.
The ECU wont have anything to do with controlling lights and accessories and most likely wont be starting because your not getting power.

Where where the sparks coming from?
Was their smoke?
I will give you a few hints to help you along.
check in this order:
1.The main earth connection from the battery to the engine and all the leads and terminals to the battery this includes taking off the connections and CLEANING them all.
2.Get a test light and check all your fusable links....every one.
You don't have to have a short to loose power, and open circuit can do the same thing.
