Anybody Know Where Can I Get A Turbo Manifold For My GQ.... Ive Got A GU Turbo But Need The Exhaust Manifold.... I Would Prefere A Factory One But Anything Helps

ive tried 2 wreckers... they only sell complete 2nd hand kits.....as i wrote above^^^

no suppliers yet. will have to do that only one im aware of is eastern turbos (melb)

Speak to Matt (battletruckmatt) or Dave at Performance Exhaust in Ringwood, they are currently building manifolds (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TURBO-MANIFOLD-S ... .m14.l1262)

Or wreckers such as patrolapart, patroldocta etc.

Or Andrew at Big-O 4x4. He sells the T3 lowmount (as per the old group buy).

Note: Prices have gone up an absolute crapload since the financial crisis stuff happened.

As long as it has the same flange pattern (ie. T2, T3) it should be fine. You can get adapters to change flange type anyway.

No difference whatsoever. The only issue you will have is that there is no room and too much heat to run a top mount air-to-air intercooler effectively, and sometimes you can have issues with dump pipe clearance on the firewall. Saying that, the top mounts are a bit easier to work on because they're not tucked under like the low mounts.

cheers coxy...big help, might go top mount due to being easier to access and work on... or what would you guys recomend... 88 TD42, Just hit 200,000km. i will be using a standard turbo... high mount setup or keep it all standard??

Depending on your end goal, there's probably a few things you could do to make the process easier. There are so many different ways to do it, and so many parts combinations that its not funny.

Your best bet would be to have a dig through the threads in the nissan section in regards to what setup suits certain applications etc. Certain physical limitations apply to certain combinations, for example low mounts won't allow for an overly large compressor housing due to block and manifold clearance.

Saying all that, if you have the time and the skills, anything is possible!!! :twisted:

yeh ive been goin through the nissan thread all day, including "Coxys Wallet Friendly Build Up" was pretty interesting. ive got the turbo and the induction piping. just need all the other sh!t to go with it. so im still deciding on how i want it setup!

I was lucky enought to have 90% of the parts all sorted and ready, plus managed to have the car off the road for a while. No orgent deadlines meant i could do everything right.

What are you doing for oil/water lines?

Probably wouldn't hurt to do a members build thread too for any future members to read up on.

oil return is going straight to the sump. oil feed im unsure about ive read their are "bungs" on the side of the block so ill look a that when i get the rest of the parts..... as for cooling... im pretty sure my turbo isnt watercooled..its off an 06 GU.

the only thing thats got me a bit stuffed is the air box. my snorkel goes straight through the gaurd, (doesnt run to the front like normal Patrols)

but regardless of all that... ive got a build up in the members section, when i get all the sh!t together ill post it all up with lots of pix

ill try and get some pictures of mine and put them on here i used a high mount manifold with a holden vl t3 hiflowed turbo 3" short radius steam pipe bend for the dump turned out pretty neat . i put a t piece in where the oil pressure sended is and ran my oil line over the motor the same as my old dts kit with the swhitzer turbo and returned it into the sump. mine cost me about $960 all up but i got a few fitting and braided oil lines for free and i bought all the 3" pipe and built my exhaust my self.

oil return is via a 5/8 copper pipe haha my brothers a fridgey he silver soldered it in cost me nothing sept taking the 36 thousand bolts out of the sump. and the blue line is high temp hose for the water return sits a little close to the exhaust for my liking but hasnt melted or any thing and ive done some long trips.

i put a pod filter inside this box which had some half arsed hiclone sort of thing mine is a 88 model

and heres just a pic from the top im yet to finish i have a 3" stainless pipe to replace the black corregade pipe for the intake. hope this helps.
