my clutch started slipping and not knowing when it was last replaced decided its time to get a clutch kit.
replaced rear main seal put new clutch in and rest of car back together, it was not that bad a job, ok so i lie it was a pain in the arse.
start the car up and there is a rattle coming from the gearbox that was not there before and at first i thinking it was the thrust bearing so we droped the box again, the new thrust bearing was not that flash and had it replaced.
so new clutch kit double check every thing and put clutch/gearbox in and again same rattle the rattle goes round 1700rpm
i drove the car round the block and all gears are fine and transfer working.
any idea's

You might find that the clutch fork is rattling, if the pressure plate fingers are uneven and the fork pivot is dry - you get a rattle. You may have to pull it out, try first to lube the bearing running area [between the bearing and the fingers] and the pivot point by pulling of the slave and removing the fork boot. Then using Lithium spray grease [with a hozzle tube fitted] give it a good dose. The clutch plate is safe, doing thissabretas wrote:yeah the sound goes when you push clutch in a bit that is why i was thinking it was the thrust bearing
