Post by acebryan »

Hi all im in the process of turning my 04 exceed into a touring rig and wanted to know what 2 inch lifts people are running and could recommend for me. It will have the normal bits on it like steel bar, winch, long range tank, water tank, roof rack, rock sliders etc etc but having never done up a paj before would like feed back on a good kit from people that know not what the stores want to sell me cheers in advance.

G'day I have a NP DiD it has a 2" lift using Bilstein shocks/struts and Lovells springs.
It actually lifted the front 60mm and the rear 65mm.
I used the heavy duty coils front & rear there is the option of super heavy duty but I think these would be too firm especially for the rear unless your carrying a lot of weight all the time or towing.
I also put the polyairs in the rear and run them at 5-10psi and that gives a really good ride.
Some guys go the super heavy duty coils for the front if their running a steel bar, winch etc with good results. Mine only has the alloy bar and no winch so the heavy duty coils are fine. They have settled perhaps 5-10mm.
Overall it is a massive improvement on the stock set up for both ride & handling (even though it's lifted) offroad I reckon it's heaps more comfortable and the the extra lift is very noticeable.
This kit seems to be one of the most popular around.
I just luv my "clacker Jabber"
