Do all 300Tdi in Australian Landies have electronic control fuel injection pumps?
If early 300Tdi (in Aus) were mechanical what year did they change to electronic?

By no means all of them but from 1996-7 they started to appear.
Best to avoid them aswell!
Why bother with electronics on a diesel!
the very thing that makes them attractive is the simplicity.
another thing to bin is the EGR which is easily done.

Mine is the last of the Aussie 300Tdi's (Nov '98) and it doesn't use the electronic control module or EGR.
EGR was introduced in some markets purely for pollution control measures. All the EGR does is load the oil sky high with soot, hence the new API CI-4 category for heavy duty diesel oils to combat this.
