turbo diesel with 2.5 inch exhaust??

Post by DAVESGQ »

im lookin at strappin a turbo to my 4.2 diesel gq some thing like a factory gu setup or somehting due to $$$. now atm i have a 2.5inch mandrel bent zorst and was wondering what your thoughts are on if it being worth going to 3 inch after the turbo goes on. i know it will produce more power torque better flow and sound tough but id like to know just how much difference it would make not having a 3 inch exhayst. of course id love to fit a 3 inch but due to $$$ i dont know if its worth it so any thought and views are appreciated. thanks

tye mate its just for a bit of extra drivability. it dont have to frigin fly up the quarter mile. i have to tow a wrok trailer around so she gets a bit too slow for my liking so it is just going to be cheap and simple and if the figures are ok with the 2.5 then id leave it and do 3 inch at a later date. what do you think the gains would be like with 3 compared to 2.5?

2.5 inch with extractors and 3 inch with turbo seems to be the magic figures

just a thought doing the 3" now would save you in the long run. but they still go really well with the 2.5" with the 3" you'll get lower egts and the egts will usually drop a bit quiker which is good for towing but either won you will still have plenty more grunt with the turbo.
