GQ battery light problem ??

Post by slu73 »

when my car is on idle my battery light comes on
i have duel batt's , the volt meter shows above 12v ,
when i rev it past 1000rpm/1200rp, the light goes away
ive turned up the idle a little bit to see if maybe it was just a low idle causing the problem ........ any idears ?????

It may be on its way out.
Some time it needs a bit more speed (rpm's) to get it started. but as long as the light goes out and the volt's stay above 13V you should be right.

Yes the Alt.
It will not be the brushes. It might be the reg or diodes.
